Gene Imbody Gene built his first guitar at the age of seventeen. While in college in the early 90's, he started working for Stewart-MacDonald's Guitar Shop Supply, one of the nation's largest suppliers to the trade. He then moved west to Colorado, working for Jon Eaton at Woodsongs Lutherie from 1995-2000. Gene polished his skills by doing tech work for a number of local bands, as well as attending repair-oriented seminars at Northwoods. Now back in Athens, Ohio, he is a technical advisor at Stew-Mac, answering phone calls, letters, and e-mails about guitar electronics and a myriad of other topics. In addition to that position, Gene does guitar repairs in his own shop, and also works with Dan Erlewine, the well-known repairman and author. Gene just completed his first visit to R-V, showing the students many new tools and techniques. We hope it won't be his last! |
