Terrance McShane Terry graduated from Mesa Community College with a major in Guitar. After attending Roberto-Venn in 1980, he went on to hone his skills at Torres Guitar and OME Banjos. After a three year apprenticeship in violinmaking with Dave Goodrich in Boulder, Colorado, he moved on to Oberlin College, becoming a Master of Violin Restoration. He returned to Tempe to work with Scott Drane at the String Shop of Arizona, taking over the operation in 1988. The String Shop currently employs three master restorers, offering bow and violin repair and restoration as well as a full-line sales and rental program. Terry's lectures to our classes on violin construction and basic repairs are among the most popular "sidetracks" that we offer. |
