Workshop
Presenter: JASON LOLLAR
A 1979 graduate of Roberto Venn, Jason was introduced to pickup winding at
the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery and built his first winder in 1980.
He repaired and made pickups for his own guitars in small quantities
until the mid 90’s when he wrote a book on pickup winding. Since
then his business, Lollar Guitars has become exclusively about making pickups.
Lollar designs one-of-a-kind pickups for special applications, makes
reproductions of old pickups no longer made, and has a standard line of pickups
that are sold to the general public and guitar manufacturers including: Fender
custom shop, PRS custom shop, Heritage Guitars, Collings, National and many
small custom builders. Lollar
Guitars employs 12 people and is located on Vashon Island Washington.
