During the hands on portion students will receive comments and insights from Jason Lollar, noted pickup making expert, R-V Graduate, from Vashon Island (near Seattle).

Workshop Presenter:  JASON LOLLAR

A 1979 graduate of Roberto Venn, Jason was introduced to pickup winding at the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery and built his first winder in 1980.  He repaired and made pickups for his own guitars in small quantities until the mid 90’s when he wrote a book on pickup winding.  Since then his business, Lollar Guitars has become exclusively about making pickups.  Lollar designs one-of-a-kind pickups for special applications, makes reproductions of old pickups no longer made, and has a standard line of pickups that are sold to the general public and guitar manufacturers including: Fender custom shop, PRS custom shop, Heritage Guitars, Collings, National and many small custom builders.  Lollar Guitars employs 12 people and is located on Vashon Island Washington.

Cost of course includes lecture, hands on,  and material costs for two pickups (One Les Paul humbucker, One Strat single coil).  Also includes – Basic Pickup Winding – a book written by Jason Lollar, used for the workshop and for your future reference.

Added Value:

Retail cost of Jason’s pickups:  $90 (Strat), $165 (humbucker)

Jason’s book ‘Basic Pickup Winding’ retails for $60 plus shipping.

Total added value:  $315
