William Eaton, the current Director of
R-V, has been building guitars and new multi-stringed instruments since
1971. Eaton's instruments have been featured in Guitar Player,
Frets, Acoustic Guitar, Experimental Musical Instruments, and many other
books and publications. He records and performs original
compositions as a soloist and with ensembles. Two of his recording
collaborations with Native American flutist R. Carlos Nakai have been
nominated for a Grammy Award, including their most recent work: "In a
Distant Place" - a quartet album featuring Nakai, Eaton, Will Clipman
(percussion) and Nawang Khechog (Tibetan flutist.) William records with
Canyon Records, tours
nationally, and continues to build and lecture at the R-V School. |
